Dr Nana Talks Faith

Love like a Nana. Think like a scholar.

Are you a Christian who longs to understand your Faith well enough to explain it to those you love? Do you want the knowledge and confidence to answer the hard questions they raise? Or, maybe you want help to respond to your own doubts.

Meet “Dr Nana.”

Hi, I’m Dr. Tricia Scribner, “Nana” to ten grandkids. After I finished my seminary PhD, my grandson, “D,” asked, “So, do we call you Dr. Nana now?” Sounds good to me!

After 15 years of studying the Bible, examining evidences for the truth of Christianity, comparing different religions, and digging into the logic, history, science, and philosophy supporting our beliefs about ultimate reality, I found my trust in Jesus Christ was well placed!

Now, I want you to join me on this journey to learn the truths and tools needed to explain the gospel clearly and answer the basic questions arising from its claims. No matter how old we are, if we’re reading this, we can learn! And when we know the answers to basic questions, we get excited when our loved ones, like our kids and grandkids, ask questions about the Christian Faith and about truth claims made by competing worldviews.

Think about conversations you could have if you could confidently answer the following questions:

  • Who is Jesus Christ?
  • Why should I believe Jesus Christ rose from the dead?
  • How do we know we can trust what the New Testament writers wrote?
  • How do we know we have what the original New Testament said?
  • Did Jesus ever claim to be God?
  • Can you believe in science and in the possibility of miracles at the same time?
  • How can God exist since there is so much evil in the world?
  • Are the core beliefs of all religions basically the same?
  • Does science show everything came into existence by chance?  and more . . .

I speak with the heart and voice of a Nana. I love my grandkids, ranging in age from 4 to 19 years old and see as one of my greatest callings of God to explain the foundational truths of life to them, truths about Jesus Christ and ultimate reality. And I want to help you do the same with your loved ones, friends, and coworkers. I’ve learned that a little preparation goes a long way in building confidence in conversations.

As a natural questioner myself, I also understand how nagging questions and fears can keep a believer awake at night and paralyze your Christian witness. I want to provide resources to help you think through your faith and enable to weather the storms of crises that often shake the faith of even strong believers.

While we don’t need to become a scholar to navigate questions about the Faith, we can learn to think like one. We can learn how to critically evaluate truth claims, identify logical errors, and examine the evidences. When we do, we will find that Christianity makes the most sense of . . .  everything!

What About Those Who’ve Never Heard?

The question of what happens to those who have never heard the gospel message after they die is a question that concerns both Christians and non-Christians alike. If they go to hell, it seems as though God is unfair. After all, they never had the opportunity to...
